SIA Security Courses

All individuals working in private security are required to have a valid SIA licence demonstrating their right to work as a security professional and in order to obtain an SIA Licence they must have a the required SIA certificate. For front line professionals such as Door Supervisors and Security Guards and anyone else whose role as a Security professional brings them into direct contact with the public, an SIA badge must be worn at all times in order to mark them out as qualified security personnel. 

SECURITY GUARD

 

In order to obtain an SIA licence you will need to show that you are trained to the right level. This applies to front line staff only.

To get one of the qualifications linked to security guard licensing you will need to attend and take three training modules and take and pass three exams. The course may be delivered over three days.

DOOR SUPERVISOR

 

To get one of the qualifications linked to door supervisor licensing, you will need to attend and take four training modules and pass four exams. Training leading to the licence-linked door supervision qualifications must be delivered over a minimum of required days.

CCTV

 

To get one of the qualifications linked to Public Space Surveillance (CCTV) licensing you will need to attend and take two training modules and take and pass two exams. The course may be delivered over three days.  The duration of the training should be 32 hours.
